![]() ![]() Mac users don’t have a separate built-in news app, but instead you can add and subscribe to RSS feeds directly in Safari in OS X, add them to pinned tab sites, or just visit a website directly in Safari. Of course, some users may remember that iOS Safari has a Shared Links feature that can also subscribe to RSS with Twitter accounts, so if you don’t have access to the News app, you can still subscribe to your favorite sites via Twitter as well. The News app is included on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch in iOS 9 and later releases, if you don’t see the feature, it may be because you haven’t updated the version or because the News app has difficulty detecting RSS feeds for the site if so, download the RSS feed directly before adding it. ![]() Maybe this will be fixed in a future version of iOS and News. You can sometimes get around by requesting a desktop version of the site from Safari on iOS before trying to add it to the news, but going directly to the RSS feed may be more reliable. * The Apple News app basically consists of RSS, but the News app isn’t particularly good at detecting RSS feeds on many websites, so you often have to navigate directly to that RSS feed and add the actual RSS feed URL to the news directly. This is nice because it allows you to add the websites and feeds you want, even if they aren’t bundled into an official list of Apple-approved sites. Now you can launch the News App and the “Favorites” section contains the RSS feeds and websites you added, making the News App a kind of RSS reader built right into iOS.
